Review: It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be

After a gander in Magma, I stumbled across this pocket sized book. If I'm going to be honest, my decision to purchase was based on its ridiculously low price and a very quick flick through. I've got to say this book was absolutely brilliant. The best thing about it is it just states the obvious and doesn't really tell you anything new. However, it's points are inspirational, great for ideas and also change how you should approach tasks etc.

A few particularly favourite approaches to a design problem were to think massive and think the opposite. For example, instead of saying a speaker system is really loud, say its so loud it could cause an earthquake and if, for example, food is unhealthy but you don't want to cover that point, think up ideas about that negative. I initially thought these were pretty silly methods but they actually work really well and new ideas come from them.

I must admit this is a book that will change how i approach design problems for the rest of my life and all I paid was a fiver.
