Finished but not a happy bunny!

I've got to say I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with the final outcome. Well, I am bar one thing. Whilst printing I didn't realise that the inside concertina had to be a few millimeters smaller than the containing box or else, well, it wouldn't fit. It was only after I had scalpeled, mounted, scalpeled again and folded that I realised it wouldnt fit. I could take the risk of trimming the inner book but if it went wrong it would look even worse!

Personally this isn't a big problem as I know given an extra day to re-print and buy the necessary materials for mounting, I could fix the problem in a jiffy. However, seeing as tomorrow is presentation day I have no choice but to face the crowd with my almost perfect box. I'm just hoping the tutors will be able to see past its flaw and see the real idea.

If anything, this mistake has been a lesson. No matter how right I think it is, I need to check again. Work it out properly before sending that bad boy off to print! In the real world, if I'd of made this mistake not only would it cost a lot of money to repair but also would be a big let down to my client and my reputation as a designer!

Lesson #1: Check the final piece a million times to ensure it's right.

(I'm going to start listing lesson's I've learn't. Not only is it useful for me but also anyone reading this blog.)

Oh, and before I forget, here are a few cheeky photo's of the final thing!
