Straight from the presentation to the blog

I've literally just come back from my presentation and began blogging before all my feedback is forgotten. I personally felt the presentation went alright. I got a lot of useful feedback and things to consider for future projects and also a few ideas I could cover.

I brought up the issue with my book not fitting inside the box and explained how in an ideal world I'd of loved to of gone to a printer and printed directly onto stock and not cutting and sicking onto card. If that was the case, I should of explored paper options and choices in my sketchbook, which I definitely will do in every print project ill get. I always seem to find myself lacking time for something which is really important to the outcome. I think if I had gone to a printer earlier on I'd of had a much cleaner, better produced book and box.

Also, ideas were suggested about other ways I could of done my machine, such as getting actual nuts and bolts and other little things like that and using them. Also, the illustration style, they felt, didn't really give the right vibe, which after hearing the feedback did make sense. Instead, something like an old illstration style might have been a better choice.

Other than that I think it went alright. I will still need to see the feedback after they look over it properly but in the mean time has given me a few pointers for the future and also ways I can improve it. I found out today that some of the best narratives will go into a gallery so I'm going to use my week off to try and improve and work on my book using the feedback given. Not only to try and get the work into a gallery but also to improve the piece for my portfolio. I know it won't change my grade but in the end, it's the portfolio which is more important when it comes to getting a job in the industry.

On a side note, I also feel I need to handle time management a lot better. Whilst I wasn't rushed to finish this, I still felt if I had done a plan of what to do each week, I'd of probably done better. So from now on, each project I do will have a week by week breakdown highlighting the key tasks I need to have completed. I'll still stick to my 3 tasks a day project but this will just give me an idea of what I need to do in the future.
