They're nocturnal, rebel against all the rules, waste lots of money and do absolutely nothing

Yep. That's us. Students. And thanks to that special breed of people, I now have a good potential audience for my SPAM re-branding. I'm going to profile a few typical students a look into what they wear, where they hang out, what hobbies they have, music taste etc. I can then use this to target SPAM at students.

I think students are a great target. There's bloody loads of them and SPAM is quick to cook, easy to store and is quite cheap. Yeah, it doesn't taste as great as a juicy steak but do students actually give a shit about taste? Students want convenience and something cheap when it comes to food. Taste is merely an added bonus!

I feel to really get into the target audience, I'm going to maybe live off spam for a week, see what I can cook from it, how easy it is and how it could fit into my lifestyle. One potential direction to go with this is festivals. I think SPAM is perfect for festivals. No need to keep it in a fridge and easy to transport! I haven't a clue whether it can be cooked on a BBQ but I know it can be eaten straight from the can!

Another potential idea was to maybe tie in social interaction and networking with things like Facebook. I really haven't a clue how I could tie it in but it is certainly a possible start to a great idea!

And just to finish off, I've literally just found this: http://www.chriskeeney.com/photography/pages/ck_SPAMera.html

Very interesting and makes me wonder what else can be done with it!
