Time to look back in time

I have completed the first major milestone in this introductory project which was to develop a body map including things about me. The next stage is to then take an element or two of the map and create a symbol, or object, to represent me. It wasn't until Friday when I did my presentation to my seminar group that I knew what direction I was going in. As I began talking about my work, I found that I was more emotional and able to discuss areas that I was most interested in. One particular area though was the viking boat which I had put onto my legs. It tied in the history of my Viking/Norse heritage (from my last name) and the Irish Gaelic/Celtic roots of my other side of the family, and using the two old styles. I, and the tutors, knew this was what I was most interested in taking forward just from how I talked about it.

I found it so helpful to discuss my work to others. Initially I had no idea what to do, however, as I began to talk through it, I soon got an idea of which idea is going to work better and which one wouldn't suit. Whenever I come to a difficult decision, I know the best thing to do is talk through my work to someone, even if it's myself!
